Tralo ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Tralo mobile application and associated services.
By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account registration details (name, email address)
- Travel preference responses from the in-app questionnaire (vacation type, preferred climate, flight duration tolerance, destinations to avoid)
- Destination selections and tracker configurations
- Communications with our support team
Information collected automatically:
- Device identifiers and operating system version
- App usage data including screens viewed, features used, and session duration
- Approximate location (country or region), if permitted by your device settings
- Crash reports and diagnostic data
- Subscription status and transaction identifiers (processed by Apple — we do not receive full payment details)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To generate personalized destination recommendations via Google Gemini based on your stated preferences
- To configure and operate price trackers for hotels and flights at your selected destinations
- To send price drop alerts and booking notifications
- To manage your account and subscription
- To improve the accuracy and relevance of our recommendations over time
- To diagnose technical issues and maintain the security of the Service
- To communicate service updates, policy changes, and support responses
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. AI Processing and Data Disclosure
When you complete the destination preference questionnaire, your responses are transmitted to Google Gemini to generate personalized recommendations. This means:
- Your preference data (vacation type, climate preference, flight duration, exclusions) is sent to Google's API for processing
- We transmit only the minimum data necessary to generate a recommendation — we do not send your name, email, or account identifiers to Google Gemini
- Google's processing of data through its API is governed by Google's API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- We do not use your data to train Google's models
Your travel preference answers are anonymised before being sent to our AI service providers. We do not include your name, email, or any personally identifying information in AI prompts.
5. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Third-party vendors who assist in operating the Service (cloud hosting, analytics, customer support tooling) under strict data processing agreements
- Google Gemini: Anonymised preference data for generating AI recommendations, as described in Section 4
- Travel data APIs: We query hotel and flight pricing APIs using destination and date parameters — no personal data is shared with these providers
- Apple: Subscription and transaction data as required for in-app purchase processing
- Legal requirements: Where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Tralo or its users
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:
- Account and preference data is retained for the duration of your account plus 90 days after deletion
- Price tracking data associated with your account is deleted upon account deletion
- Anonymised, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes
- Legal and financial records may be retained for longer periods as required by applicable law
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data

9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Push Notifications
Tralo may send push notifications to alert you of price drops and booking opportunities. You can manage notification preferences at any time through your device's notification settings. Disabling notifications will not affect your account or tracking functionality, but you may miss time-sensitive price alerts.
11. International Data Transfers
Tralo operates globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including countries where data protection laws may differ. Where we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or rely on adequacy decisions by relevant data protection authorities.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
